What would you do with $110 (not billion) dollars?

Apple just announced they have $110 billion dollars in the bank. We can't give you that much -- sorry, we'd love to! -- but we can give you a $110 gift certificate for the iMore Accessory Store to spend on whatever you like!

ComScore pegs Kindle Fire at more than 50 percent of the US Android tablet market

We've seen some pretty clear indications that the Kindle Fire was rapidly gaining market share among Android tablets, and ComScore is now out with a new report that indicates it recently crossed a big milestone. According to the research firm, the Fire's market share in the US fully doubled from December to February, with it standing at 54.4 percent as of the end of the month. Counted together, the Galaxy Tab family sits in second at 15.4 percent, while the Motorola Xoom and Asus Transformer come in at 7 and 6.3 percent, respectively. Of course, the Kindle Fire isn't quite your ordinary Android tablet, so this is likely better news for Amazon than Google. In addition to that, ComScore also looked at the browsing habits of tablet users, and unsurprisingly found that larger screens tended to lead to more content consumption, with 10-inch tablets boasting a 39 percent higher consumption rate than 7-inch devices. You can find all the numbers at the source link below.

Octomom Offered Free Blowouts From Hairdresser Amid Welfare Backlash

Brazilian Blowout, the company behind the hairstyling Octomom recently spent hundreds of dollars on while on welfare, is apparently as mortified by her antics as everyone else, and offering to make it right with free blowouts from now on.

The company wants to reimburse Nadya Suleman the entire cost of her recent blowouts - plus other hair treatments - that she spent $520 on.

While under investigation by DCFS for horrific living conditions, natch.

Octomom Suleman

Such reckless spending and inability to earn enough money to take care of her offspring has some wondering if Octomom should lose her kids.

With that in mind, Brazilian Blowout wants to help a girl out.

CEO Mike Brady says, "We want to make sure California taxpayers' money is not going to anything other than taking care of [Nadya Suleman's] kids. We don't want to see those children miss out on anything at the cost of a Brazilian Blowout."

BB also wants to give Octomom free blowouts and cover the cost of a sitter while the mother of 14 is gets primped. They feel so bad about taking her money, they're even offering to fix her toilet, which might allow her kids to drop a D inside.

The stuff of dreams, right there.

Should Octo lose her kids?

Track Your Facebook Abuse, Bullying, Spam Reports With Transparent New Support Dashboard

Facebook Community SupportFacebook wants you to know it's listening when you report bullying, hate speech, identity theft, and spam, so today it launched a new Support Dashboard for tracking these reports until they're resolved. Users can check to see if their report has been reviewed, be notified of whether the offensive content was removed or left up, and learn why the decision was made. The Support Dashboard is gradually rolling out to the Account Settings menu starting today with Facebook tracking Timeline and photo flags there, and monitoring for more content types will be added soon. Cyberbullying has emerged as huge problem across the Internet and especially on Facebook, where Consumer Reports says one million children were bullied from June 2010-2011. The Support Dashboard should make users feel more confident about spending time on Facebook because they know if they're abused and report it, their problems will actually be heard and responded to.

Google+ Share button gives you another option aside from plain 'ol +1s

Image

Although Google's had its +1 button all over the web for some time now, helping folks show their allegiance to things they like, it's lacked a dedicated button just for sharing content. That's now changed, as the Google+ development team recently let loose the Share button. The button is similar in appearance to its +1 sibling, but rather than just being a shortcut for quickly slapping content with a virtual high-five, it gives you a way to easily share pages on your Google+ profile. (Yes, you could share through the +1 button, too, but consider this one a bit more focused). Best of all, the Google+ Share button is ready to roll, so move your cursor to the source link below if you'd like to put it on your site or find out more. Happy Liking sharing!

President Obama test drives a Sphero on Boulder visit

Image

President Obama was in the Centennial State last night, hyping up an enthusiastic crowd at the University of Colorado at Boulder's Coors Events Center. Of course, he couldn't help but take some time to check out some some of the local innovation. The President took a few moments out of his busy schedule to play around with the smartphone-controlled Sphero RC ball, declaring "how cool is that," before demanding that the crowd, "give me some space to drive my ball." He also tossed out some superlatives like "terrific," after nearly driving it into a woman's flip-flop. Now that's a solid endorsement, if ever we've heard one. In the end, though, it didn't last long -- the guy's got a country to run, after all.
